Aletha My favorite track is the first one, but all together this is a lovely album. I love that it is named after an old car. Maybe that's part of my affection for these tunes - they remind me of my Carina Corona (a 1978 Toyota Corona) who, sadly, now sits retired in the paddock. Favorite track: Wake Up Mama.

Wake Up Mama 04:01
She comes down from the upstairs Running fast Running scared "Wake up, Mama. Wake up, Pa. There's a ghost up there living in my bed" "Well I fought her once and I fought her twice And I lost to her both times in spite of all your sound advice. Wake up, Mama. Wake up, Pa. There's a ghost up there living in my head." And she says Who will take me over this mountain or Ooo will I go under all alone Well that child has the wandering kind Of mind that keeps her busy when she lies away at night "Well what I saw up there" she said, "Is surely dead. There's a ghost up there living in my head" And she says Who will take me over this mountain or Ooo will I go under all alone

What's left in this What's left in this heart sweet heart of mine I got a little less Willingness to try and make you feel alright What is it gonna take to fill you up It ain't me. There ain't anything good enough If you had the whole damn world in your hands Still you'd sit there swinging your fists around the air Sayin', "It ain't fair" And it ain't fair What's left in this What's left in this heart cold heart of yours You've got a little left Willingness to try and make it work But what is it gonna take to fill you up It ain't me. There ain't anything good enough If you had the whole damn world in your hands Still you'd sit there swinging your fists around the air Sayin', "It ain't fair" And it ain't fair

An Island 03:14
I've gotta let it out of my head Knowing everything comes and goes Good friends I've loved with my whole heart I don't even know anymore A long time ago I built the notion That nothing must ever end Now the world that I live in keeps spinning around And I guess I've made myself an island People will tell you how everything changes And nothing is as it seems Then I guess from the start we were oceans apart But not there's more than water between By now I ought to know If I hold too tight I just can't let it go

Faded gold faded gold Handed down handed down Handed down Faded Gold My Bonneville Flying high The things we did The things we did Flying High In My Bonneville You were always good for me I never had it better before Then I had to let you go Climbing out the passenger door Windows down Tribal sounds Tribal sounds With the windows down In My Bonneville In the dark The things we did The things we did In the dark In My Bonneville You were always good for me I never had it better before Then I had to let you go Climbing out the passenger door The things we did The things we did In My Bonneville

Oh Darlin' You put the right in the wrong, darlin' Everything up until now has been Barely worth keeping around and then You put the right in the wrong Oh my love You must have been sent from down below Cause you make me feel so right And at the same time so wrong How do you keep me from running away I don't know But I wont Nobody else can make me feel this way You're the only one that I want Oh Darlin' I know you might be the wrong darlin But if it were right It might as well be Something that I could just barely keep feeling For anyone other than you
6.
The little bit of darkness that you've feared Has grown since then come again to find you Stirring up the embers of a pile at your feet Wondering "How am I to keep this fire burning?" A little bit of kerosine is all it ever took But you only had the money for a half-full matchbook So you sold your heart and home for a bit of the good stuff Saying "Why should I be the only one without it?" If there's a light at the end Don't let the end be far Nothing stays aflame too long When the wind hits this hard You were reaching for the surface But just kept sinking into the core If there's a light at the end Don't let the end be far Now all your higher-ups are still there lying in their dirt And what you once swore would kill you now it doesn't even hurt Now you can't even see what you would have sworn you'd be missing All the bad dreams have gone now and with them the good dreams If there's a light at the end Don't let the end be far Nothing stays aflame too long When the wind hits this hard You were reaching for the surface But just kept sinking into the core If there's a light at the end Don't let the end be far
7.
I haven't seen you In what feels like years Though what feels like years may be You took my letters And you put them away Or you ripped them to tiny pieces I know I may be a little bit crazy But always my heart is true No more you love me No more I love you But always my heart is true Your father read books on a young Henry Thoreau And he gave you a name for him You've got your willpower But where did your courage go Where did your courage go You never meant to be Less than a friends to me And always my heart was true No more you love me No more I love you But always my heart is true

In The Water 05:12
I'm goin' down Goin' down to that place Gon' down by the riverside Where I see my face in the water And the tall grass grows Where the river overflows Where the rain falls heavy on that place I see my face in the water Some days I get lost Out there out there Where the river only takes water it's handed So I'm gonna run Gonna run down to that place Where I can find my own face In the water

Come On 04:18
You say you want To come on home So come on home, come on In the day, in the night I'm pressed to the words To hear me keep saying Come on I will only call for you I will only call for you So long So long And you may never come to me You may never come to me Come on, come on When her arms do tire And her love holds you limp And you need something strong Come on If you can't pull through There are things I can do And then things I won't do Come on I will only call for you I will only call for you So long So long And you may never come to me You may never come to me Come on, come on
